Thank You Birds

Look what I found at Chapters yesterday! Clearly my obsession with birds is not over. I have ‘thank you’ cards galore at my place but I couldn’t resist picking these up. The design is beautiful, artistic and kinda vintage. I love it.

My obsession with stationary and publishing houses is not over either. teNeues has some incredible collections of specialty books and stationary that tend to keep me on their site for far too long. You must check them out here.

True Valentine

Valentine’s Day has never been my most favorite holiday. I actually think it’s so commercial these days and just another excuse for to people to throw away their money and buy useless things. If you have a special person in your life you should be treating them with love, and showering them with flowers and chocolate whenever possible, not just once a year! THAT being said, I saw this post on Facebook and my heart melted with joy. JOY. The old man, the photo, the story. All of it. This man truly knows what love is.

Thank you to Ravi Patel for posting this picture and for the beautiful retelling of the conversation.

” So today I was in Hallmark buying my mom a Happy Birthday card when I noticed this old man standing in front of the Valentine’s card section contemplating which one to get. I decided to go over and ask him, “Are you getting a Valentine’s Day for your wife?” to which he replied ‘No my wife died 3 years ago from breast cancer but I still buy her roses and a card and bring them to her grave to prove to her that she was the only one that will ever have my heart.’ “
